Accounting and trust

Every dollar recorded, every trust account reconciled.

DuraLex will pull your bank transactions through a secure bank connection, record each one in QuickBooks against the right client and matter, and reconcile your IOLTA trust account three ways, all day, not once a month.

Connect your bank · planned

Your accounts connected, in about a minute.

DuraLex will connect your operating and IOLTA trust accounts through Plaid. You sign in to your bank inside Plaid's secure window, so your bank password never reaches DuraLex, and DuraLex asks only to read balances and transactions.

Planned connection. DuraLex will request read-only access to balances and transactions; it will not be able to move money. Plaid is a separate company. Bank names are shown to illustrate the picker; DuraLex is not affiliated with any of them.

Operating and trust, side by side.

Press play to run a sample morning. Each transaction arrives from the bank, is matched to a client and matter, and is recorded in QuickBooks. Money leaves trust only with attorney approval.

    Access by role

Everyone sees the matters they work on, and only the money they should.

Pick a role. The managing attorney sees the whole firm. An associate sees their own matters. Staff see their matters without dollar amounts. The bookkeeper sees the money without the case files.

Sample firm, made-up names and amounts. Access by role is planned.

Who works on what, and what each matter holds

In Pennsylvania, Rule 1.15(c)(4) requires a monthly reconciliation of each trust account that agrees with the total of the client balances, Rule 1.15(c) requires records kept for five years, and approved banks report trust overdrafts under Pa.R.D.E. 221(h). Other states differ. The attorney remains responsible for the trust account; DuraLex will keep the records and raise the alerts.
